Our History

We started Island Web Works in 2001 with a simple premise – to keep our promises. We have since developed websites and web based software for many of the island's leading companies and also developed a successful and award winning CRM software called MIGTurbo. We have a reputation for prompt delivery of quality solutions to business problems.

At the outset we were almost exclusively a web site design company. However, over the past few years our focus has shifted to process automation; we still make web sites, although many clients now want to move beyond a ‘brochure-ware’ site and use web technologies to help them work smarter.

A lot of our work centres on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) type projects, which are handled by our Circle2 ‘Business Intelligence’ division.

Today, many internet technologies are equally applicable to processes within the business. A big advantage to using these technologies in software developments is they tend to be much quicker than traditional methods. Typically, we aim to go from concept to live system in three months.

 

Key Contacts

Sales and marketing is led by Charles Douthwaite.

Charles is well known in the island's IT industry having previously held senior positions with two major Manx IT companies. With over 20 years experience providing business solutions to the corporate market, Charles' focus centres on the commercial aspects of web technologies; an area he has many years practical experience within.

Our design team is led by Andreas Heinakroon.

Born in Sweden, Andreas relocated from Finland in May 2001 to join Island Web Works. His wealth of experience brought a fresh Scandinavian perspective to our team and through his focus on highly functional, elegant design, Andreas has been instrumental in both the design and development of our MIGTurbo CRM/BPR software suite and other award winning developments undertaken to date.

Software Development is led by Nathan Pledger.

A chartered IT professional with a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science and Information Systems, Nathan brings several years commercial development experience utilising various development tools including C#, VISUAL BASIC 6, .NET framework, ASP.NET, XHTML and Javascript technologies. Nathan is also an active Member of the British Computer Society interested in Social Marketing, ethical web development and Microsoft technologies.
