The Client
Operating from purpose built premises in the Isle of Man, Mannin Media Group is the Island’s premier publisher of quality magazines. The group also provides a comprehensive range of pre-press services, Graphic Design, Advertisement Planning and Placement and Exhibition management services catering for local Exhibitions, Conferences and Corporate Events.  
 
Requirement
Implement an information management system that would meet the daily requirements of a dedicated telesales team, production team and administration team. The company is committed to the Investors in People programme, and required a solution that was easy to use, yet flexible enough to meet the varying departmental requirements. Management reporting was also important, as the system was to be used for sales forecasting and activity management.
 
Evaluation
Mannin Media were originally considering having a bespoke software solution written specifically for them, however, after reviewing their requirements and evaluating the MIGTurbo software, it was decided that MIGTurbo adequately met their immediate requirements, and offered future expansion.

MIGTurbo in Directory Services

This case study is for a MIGTurbo CRM implementation at Isleofman.com.
 
The Client
Isleofman Dot Com Ltd manages isleofman.com, providing promotional opportunities for the well established tourism and finance  business sectors with information sections covering the history and heritage of the Isle of Man.  Integral to the website is an online business directory including all Island based businesses categorised under their various activities.
 
The Problem
Isleofman.com is a rapidly growing business that is utilising technology to maintain their competitive edge.
 
As the main business focus is advertising within the isleofman.com business directory, a strategic decision was taken to find a CRM solution that would manage both the back office sales management and the business directory. Due to the dynamic nature of ‘doing business’ on the internet, isleofman.com is focused on automating as many internal business processes as possible. In late 2006, they started looking for suitable CRM software that was browser based using a SQL database. MIGTurbo was short listed and following further investigation and existing client references, an order was placed.
 
The Solution
The key business processes were identified as
 
• Customer service
• New Business Development
• E-marketing
• Business Directory management
 
Once the initial analysis of key business processes was complete, we proposed a custom designed solution to manage the business directory based on our MIGTurbo CRM software.
 
Solution Delivery
Isleofman.com provided an electronic copy of data which comprised approximately 6,000 client names, addresses and associated data for importation into MIGTurbo.

Following data migration and testing, MIGTurbo was installed at the client’s site. After user details and permissions were configured and user training undertaken the staff began using the system immediately.
 
Isleofman.com will use their internal development resource to develop a bespoke module for managing the business directory. This will integrate with MIGTurbo to avoid duplication and save time.

This case study is for a MIGTurbo CRM implementation at Offshore Specialist Appointments Ltd (OSA). This case study highlights key elements of our approach including, problem identification and delivery of an effective business solution.
 
The Client
Offshore Specialist Appointments Limited is a well established Recruitment Agency with offices based in Guernsey and the Isle of Man. OSA have built their reputation on professionalism, discretion and commitment to ensuring the highest standards of service are maintained at all times with both clients and candidates alike. In their capacity as corporate recruitment specialists, OSA provide advice on a comprehensive range of recruitment and team building programmes.
 
OSA works closely with most of the islands leading organisations and is a member of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, REC.  
 
The Problem
OSA is a dynamic and growing business that had many manual and legacy internal processes. As OSA successfully grew the business, these legacy processes were starting to impact on business growth.  
 
A strategic decision was taken to implement a single solution to automate many of the manual or spreadsheet based processes. OSA undertook a process to assess specialist Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software which could handle the requirements of both the Recruitment and Training divisions. MIGTurbo was singled out as a product that could be tailored to the specific requirements of OSA’s business.
 
The Solution
Island Web Works began by analysing the internal processes within OSA using its standard Business Process Reengineering (BPR) methodology. BPR is a management approach that examines aspects of a business and its interactions, and attempts to improve the efficiency of the underlying processes.
 
The key business processes were identified as
  • New Vacancy Registrations
  • New Candidate Registrations
  • Associated Due diligence
  • Marketing of recruitment vacancies
  • Training Course Management
  • Marketing of training course vacancies
  • Managing Client Correspondence (Documents, faxes, email)

Once the initial analysis of key business processes was complete, IWW custom-designed a software solution to automate these processes based on its MIGTurbo CRM software.
 
Two specific modules were developed to cater for the OSA business – a Recruitment module and a Training module.
 
Solution Delivery
Island Web Works worked with OSA to extract an electronic copy of data from the existing legacy recruitment software and imported the relevant name, address and associated information into MIGTurbo.  
 
Following successful migration and testing of data, MIGTurbo was installed at the client’s site; all user details and permissions had been configured prior to installation. User training was undertaken and the OSA team began testing system functionality. The feedback process began with staff highlighting opportunities for further improvement and requesting additional functionality. As agreed at the outset, change requests were qualified and agreed software modifications were undertaken.
 
Island Web works has considerable experience with systems integration – particularly in integrating their MIGTurbo software with key client systems.  In the OSA implementation, MIGTurbo has replaced several manual processes to provide a centralized view of all client communication across the business. This means the number of applications required to manage daily work processes has been dramatically reduced, processes have been automated greatly reducing the time required, and management has clear visibility of client work-in-process; ensuring the business is able to respond faster to both client and candidate enquiries while maintaining the high standards of service to which they are accustomed.  
 
MIGTurbo manages the vacancy data on the
www.osa.im web site. As new vacancies are added to MIGTurbo, these are displayed on the web site. Powerful integrated e-marketing tools are used to keep candidates informed about the latest vacancies via email or SMS.

This case study is for a MIGTurbo CRM implementation at MAC Financial. This case study highlights key elements of our approach including, problem identification and delivery of an effective business solution.
 
 
The Client
MAC Financial is an Isle of Man based organisation that provides financial services including Employee Benefits advice to large multi-national and small corporate clients. In its capacity as a Corporate IFA (Independent Financial Adviser) for investment business, MAC Financial facilitates and advises on a full range of financial planning services. These include design, advice and implementation of Employee Benefits Programmes for employers on the Isle of Man. In addition, independent financial advice is offered to the employees and pensioners of corporate clients.
 
MAC Financial also works closely with accountants and solicitors to provide a complementary service to their clients. These services are regulated by the Financial Supervision Commission, putting additional demands on MAC Financials ability to organise and access its data.  
 
The Problem
MAC Financial is a rapidly growing business with complex internal processes. These internal processes were complicated by the integration of three other businesses in the last three years. In 2004, MAC Financial acquired AON Financial Services, followed in 2005 by acquisition of Marsh (Isle of Man) Limited's Financial Services book of business. In September 2006 MAC also acquired Anglo Irish Bank’s investment advisory division
 
A strategic decision was taken to automate many of the internal business processes that had previously been handled manually. In early 2006, MAC started looking for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage client relationships. MIGTurbo was recommended to MAC Financial by another local company which was already using the software.
 
The Solution

Island Web Works imported this data into MIGTurbo. The Schemes Management and Policy Renewal data that was managed on MS Excel spread sheets was also imported and associated with the relevant client records in MIGTurbo.  
 
Following successful migration and testing of data, MIGTurbo was installed at the client’s site; all user details and permissions had also been configured prior to installation. User training was undertaken and the staff began using the system immediately. The feedback process began with staff highlighting opportunities for further improvement and requesting additional functionality. Shimmin Wilson & Co are a firm of Chartered Accountants based in the Isle of Man. They provide a comprehensive range of business advisory and accountancy services including; registered auditors; trustees in bankruptcy; insolvency and liquidation services.
 
Requirement
Shimmin Wilson & Co were looking for a database solution that would enable them to consolidate and manage client data held across a number of legacy systems whilst incorporating KYC related data. CRM was not the central focus, however, the benefits of managing this data centrally were recognised.
 
Testing
Shimmin Wilson & Co implemented the core CRM module and focused their efforts on mapping data to the structures available within MIGTurbo. The bulk of legacy data now imported into MIGTurbo the focus will move to report management.

Commenting on the installation, Paul Shimmin, a Partner in Shimmin Wilson & Co said "We had considered writing an in-house solution from scratch using an off the shelf application, however, the time and costs associated with a ‘DIY’ solution were not justified. This case study is for a MIGTurbo CRM and CDD implementation at Scarlett Corporate Services.

The Client
Based in the Isle of Man, Scarlett Corporate Services specialise in the provision and management of offshore companies and trusts for tax efficient structuring to an international clientele.
 
Requirement
Implement a work flow solution to facilitate the effective daily management of client activity and CDD/KYC (Customer Due Dilligence/Know Your Customer) legislative requirements.
 
Testing
Scarlett Corporate Services initially concentrated their testing on the work flow and task management aspect of their requirements. Testing was then extended to the KYC functionality.

Commenting on the trial Ross Byrne, General Manager for Scarlett Corporate Services said, “We had looked at a number of different systems, many of which were either costly and complex or simply lacked a reasonable level of functionality to meet our management requirements. MIGTurbo was certainly very user-friendly and easy to understand and appeared to meet our requirements. This case study is for a MIGTurbo CRM implementation at Allied Irish Offshore.
 
Allied Irish Offshore
Based in the Isle of Man, Allied Irish Offshore is part of the AIB Group; Ireland's leading banking and financial services organisation employing almost 30,000 people worldwide in more than 1,000 offices.
 
Requirement
Implement a contact management system for the bank's intermediaries and banking staff. Prerequisites included ease of use, and the ability to work effectively over a dedicated WAN (Wide Area Network) link.  
 
Testing
Allied Irish Offshore concentrated their testing on the application's function as an intranet-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution.
 
Client Comment
Commenting on the trial Noel Duffy, Marketing Manager for Allied Irish Offshore said "We had been looking at a number of different systems and some were extremely complex, leading to a danger that staff might not use them at all. We found that MIGTurbo was very user-friendly, easy to understand and it met the needs we had for our intermediaries. Allied Irish Offshore tested the application through its team of managers who regularly interact with financial intermediaries to provide constantly updated business reporting and a useful diary system which tracks appointments and tasks through shared access between the Isle of Man and Jersey.
 
Around 20 members of staff were involved in the initial testing and we found that we no longer required multiple copies of commercially sensitive data to be held separately on laptops or PCs. We experienced real benefits from MIGTurbo and have now extended this further by applying it to our customer relationship managers.”
 
Outcome
Allied Irish Offshore gave the application their stamp of approval after a 'live trial' lasting several months. They now have around 120 members of staff using MIGTurbo CRM.
